Hailey Bieber, the model, and wife of Justin Bieber debuted five products in her new skincare line, Rhode on June 15th, 2022. Now that the brand has launched, does it live up to the hype? What kind of products can we expect? Here our Airshop Esthetician Ishtar breaks down her thoughts on Hailey’s skincare brand, Rhode.
Overview of Rhode
If you are looking to get Hailey's signature glazed donut skin, look no further. Rhode skincare is based on the following ethos: Simplicity. Affordability. Authenticity. Quality. Transparency.
Described as a gentle, effective skin-care line Rhode offers a limited selection of formulas that focus on just a few scientifically proven ingredients that focus on restoring the skin barrier.
Rhode caters to all skin types with products priced in the $16-$29 range making it an accessible affordable skincare brand for all.
The Rhode Futures Foundation will start investing and supporting 1000 women and their formulas in 2023. The Rhodes Futures Foundation has committed a minimum of 1% sales to support their efforts and the women they serve.

What We Like
Simple, Natural Ingredients
Rhode’s formulas are developed in partnership with cosmetic chemists and dermatologists. Their focus is on proven, fragrance-free, vegan formulas to help restore the skin barrier.
Formulations include high-performance ingredients such as Niacinamide, which is restorative helping to reduce large pores, build skin immunity, and repair damaged DNA while also protecting the skin from environmental stresses.
Other ingredients included to help nourish and hydrate the skin include Peptides, Shea Butter, Cupuaçu, Babassu, Hyaluronic Acid, Marula oil, plant-based Squalane, and Açaí.
Minimalistic Formulas
Have you ever looked at the ingredients in your skincare products and seen a long list of ingredients? Products with 50+ ingredients include those ingredients in very small amounts which limits the benefits of the active properties.
Rhode's formulations include a limited amount of ingredients, which increases the % of those ingredients and their active properties.
What Could Be Improved
Limited Selection
With only 3 products in the Rhode product line, some essential skincare products are missing for your daily routine.
We think a face cleanser would have been a great addition to the collection, as it is the most essential item used daily.
Use of petrochemicals
Rhode products include ingredients like butylene glycol, hydrogenated polyisobutene, and synthetic wax. These ingredients are petrochemicals that have a negative impact on the environment.
Rhode markets itself as a "clean" brand, so we find that vegetable butter and waxes would have been a better option for the lip balms.
Conclusion
