When I saw this eye pencil, I purchased three - one for my makeup bag, one for my purse and an extra. I had used the previous formula since its inception and was extremely disappointed when it was discontinued. I cautiously read the reviews of the new formula and thought that nothing Estee Lauder sells could be as big a disappointment as others claim, but it is. The eye liner is EXTREMELY dry to apply, clumps on my eyes and the smudge tip will not blend due to the dryness. It clumps so badly my eyes look as if I have mascara smeared on my eyelids! I have to use makeup remover to gently smudge out the clumps when applying! The amount of pressure needed to apply and smudge the liner concerns me regarding wrinkles! It is upsetting that I now have three containers of useless eyeliner. I had been trying lesser expensive brands in an attempt to find a replacement since the old formula was discontinued and must admit I have had better success with the $10-$15 brands. Why do you take a perfect formula and discontinue it with a much inferior product? Please stop doing this! I have been using Estee Lauder for over 30 years and this is the biggest disappointment I have ever had! Bring back the old formula!!! One other thing to mention - the description indicates it comes with a sharpener (don't know why you would need a sharpener with an automatic pencil) and even shows a picture of an additional smudge tip yet there is neither in the package! If you purchase this, do so cautiously. It is in no way a replacement for the old eye pencil.

I loved the previous Automatic Eye Pencil that EL used to offer and I don't know why they stopped making them. They were superior to other auto eye pencils I've used (compared to Kat Von D cake, Shu, etc). I tried Double Wear on 2 different occasions and will not buy again. I found it tugged the skin around the eye, broke easily and when I tried to blend the line, I got little crumbs falling onto my cheeks. Please bring back your original formulation. Until then, I will sadly have to look elsewhere.

The eyeliner is dreadful, extremely dry to apply, breaks easily in large pieces, makes your eyes itchy and watery and is not waterproof or long lasting, the lid came broken for the smudge stick and will not stay on the product making it useless to use hygienically. Don't waste your money or time!!!

Love the colour! Easy to apply, goes on smoothly. Not too crazy about the smudger . I find it's hard and does not feel comfortable when you are trying to smudge the colour. Other than that, good buy!

Excellent eyeliner. Smooth application without clumping but it's not so soft that it's breaking apart as you apply it. The color was a perfect match. The pigment isn't super strong so it's perfect for day time wear and work. If your looking for a more dramatic night time look I would probably use their liquid liner. The only issue I had was the applicator itself. The smudge side came out of the tube when I pulled the cap off. Not really a big deal and it easily went back in, but I could see if popping off and getting lost in the future. I would suggest EL have their QC team look into the design.

PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the Double Wear Pencil. It was the best eye liner I have ever used. It goes on so smoothly and stays all day. I recently ordered the other Double Wear eye liner (the one that is not a pencil and comes with a built in sharpener because it was the only choice and it does not work. Again, please bring back the Double Wear Pencil. I bought the one with the sharpener because it had such good reviews but I believe the reviews are for the pencil liner which is no longer available. Please bring the pencil eye liner back.

Please bring back your Double Wear Stay in Place eye pencil. I have used this in Burgundy Suede for many years. It stays in place and looks very soft and beautiful. I only ordered this because I had no choice. I'm returning it because I also had an allergic reaction to it. I think it has something to do with the waterproof formula. Please bring back the regular eye pencil. Also, it doesn't stay on as well as the other pencil.

I read the reviews and was replacing my Double Wear eyeliner. However, I am very disappointed. It does not go on smoothly. It's actually clumpy. The smoothing tip erases the line instead of smudging it. I would not recommend, especially for the price paid.

I have been using Double Wear Infinite Waterproof Eyeliner for several years and love a couple of the bright colors. However, when I went to the store to purchase more today I was surprised that not only were my colors discontinued, but the regular Double Wear pencil was completely eliminated. Each have their place. This DW Infinite waterproof eyeliner dries out over time making it hard to apply; sometimes it flakes off. It also has a tendency to break even when very little is showing. Which is why I often use the regular DW pencil, often layering the two. Because they dry out I cannot stock up on favorite colors. Please bring back the Double Wear regular pencil eyeliner and brighter colors. Not everyone looks good with brown and black tones.
